Common problems

  • PDK clutch-fluid service (minor)The GT3's PDK needs a periodic clutch-fluid change (Porsche schedule shown as 48k miles / 4-6 years; specialists suggest ~30k, and more often for regularly tracked cars). Skipped service is a common gap in records.Fix: Perform PDK clutch-fluid (and later transmission oil) service per schedule.Source
  • Carbon-ceramic (PCCB) rotor replacement cost (moderate)PCCB was optional; discs are replaced for chips/cracks or wear and are roughly 10x the cost of iron rotors. Mainly a concern on tracked cars.Fix: Inspect discs and pads before purchase; replace or convert to iron rotors.Source
  • No model-specific pattern faults reported (minor)PistonHeads' 991 GT3 buying guide reports no specific faults for the 991.1 RS; Porsche stated its engine was not affected by the 991.1 GT3 finger-follower defect. Standard checks (service history, track use, tyres) apply.Fix: Pre-purchase inspection with DME over-rev report.Source
